Reederei Marten is specialized in the operation of container and bulkcarrier tonnage in worldwide trade. The Company is closely connected to the German KG-system through its cooperation with private investors who have invested in the fleet of Reederei Marten. It is the dedicated aim of the company to offer these private investors the highest possible return on their investment.
This can only be achieved by maintaining a high quality standard onboard the ships. In addition, it means the readiness to quickly respond to requirements set by shipping markets in terms of commercial flexibilty.
Reederei Marten considers its company culture as being embedded in a cooperation with private investors, banking institutions and timecharterers.
Business began for Reederei Marten in Autumn 2005 with the signing of a newbuilding contract for the Company’s first container vessel to be built at a Chinese shipyard. Since then the fleet has been steadily growing with containership-newbuildings from various Far Eastern shipyards. All newbuildings projects have been initiated with competent shipyards with a proven track record either in South Korea or China in order to benefit from price advantages compared to European Shipyards.
In total, Reederei Marten has put 14 container vessels into service to date. Another 13 vessels are connected with Reederei Marten under third-party-management.
